Our movie 'Moving On?' is a romantic film and is similar to Bridget Jones, but we are trying to develop it through the sad emotions we used.It was quite challenging for us to give our audience the sad emotions

with the falling raindrop and the rainy days, which makes it
more emotional. Especially for a young British audience, we show a woman in her seemingly perfect life. So we target young women in
particular and our character gives the emotions to the audience. Also, we get the impression that she does not have a nice public and private life.
There are also different between our media product and a real
media product. One thing is that we tried to make these
symbols much more special than the ordinarily would be. For example we focused on a single raindro
p rather then used just the whole rainfall. Even in the whole single raindrop scene we made it in slow motion which look s much more special. We used it because it makes the whole media product much more emotional. Also the close up from the shoes when out act or puts of the shoes. The scene where we stop the music on the end is significant because it shows our character turn off the music which means she is ' switching off ' the sad feelings in order to move on.
2. How does your media Product represent particular social groups ?
Our main character represents a very particular social group. She is a young, single woman, with her own flat (therefore, probably middle-class) and, initially, a job. She then loses her job and becomes unemployed. People belonging to all social groups may have both public and private problems, but to some extent the social group they are in influences the kinds of problems they may have. For example, they might not feel comfortable in their job or they might lose their job, and private because they might have just lost their life partner. Also people who walk on the street and just walk home from their jobs or people who sit in the pub or bar and have a lot of private problems.
3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
Our movie 'Moving On' is a
high production film and links to Working

Title. We have a clear target age group which are girl in the age from 17 - 26 years old. Also
we have and optimistic tittle which give the audience the hope on a happy end. Also a character many women could relate to the institute. Our movie is also a
low budget movie but if it looks good now, it could be even better with a higher budget.
We also tried to attract it through the ipod at the last shot. It should attract itunes that we used a product from apple but also the apple computer.

which was all in my flat. I tried to make my flat girly, so i put up flowers and girls magazine
with candles.
Also the "absent" boss was a really important thing. Because when she walks in the boss office and he is not there she starts to get sad but from this time on you do not know why. You might figure it out why.
We also thought about that we maybe distribute our product on TV and so distribute our movie
faster. Or also through posters in big cities. But also the window cleaner which we decided to use. It should makes it look real.
4. Who would be the audience for your media product?
For our media product 'Moving On', the best audience would be girls, because it is a girly movie, and it is sad, so the main audience at which the movie is aimed is girls in the age group 17-26 years old.
In this movie, we have tried to attract the audience to it throughreally sad music, which already makes the audience sad and into the movie from the very beginning. Also, the movie is for audiences who have job problems and would probably feel exactly the same as our character in the movie. The character's story should be especially meaningful to the audience if they have a new job, where they may not feel comfortable or may be under pressure because they cannot handle it because the job is too stressful.
Though we chose a middle-class audience for our media product, it is also for people who like a movie with more emotional content. It is also for girls who like this kind of character - how she dresses and what her life is like.
She has a job, so girls watch it because they like to see a successful woman with a good job, and a seemingly perfect life. However, the audience very quickly finds out that in reality, it is not at all a good job or a perfect life; this introduction to the story gives our movie the conflict and momentum we wanted it to have to drive it forwards, and, most of all, draws the audience in even more by gaining its sympathy for our character. Hopefully, our audience will want to watch the movie to see how the story ends.
A similar film to ours would be 'Bridget Jones' because it also tends to attract a female audience.
5. How did you attract/address your audience?
We tried to address our audience through really sad piano music which gives him a sad emotion and straight into the movie. Also our special effects which we put in. For example the rain in the background when she is walking on the streets makes the audiences also feel like it is a sad movie and already interested to it. We also input the single raindrop which should attract our audiences as well. Because of the special slow motion and the perfect shot of the raindrop looks it really good and attracts the audience.
6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this media product?

From making this movie, I learnt a lot, especially through laptop work, camera work and how to use a tripod. I was the camera man, but I also learnt about what it needs and what time it takes to make a good movie. At first, I learnt about camera work and I never thought it would be that difficult. I had to check if the lighting and sound were good when we worked on the streets; the lighting was always different because we filmed on different days and at different times, so I had to change the camera settings accordingly. I also learnt how to use a tripod, which was good, because I then knew how to eliminate the risk of my hand shaking when taking certain shots, because the camera stays still, and you can just use it while the camera is fixed in one place.
In addition, I learnt how to focus the camera on one special small thing. For example, when filming the rain drop on the mirror, I focused on the rain drop dripping into the water, which made my camera work easier, and because the audience would see it better. The zoom in or out focused for example alex sitting on he couch and than zoom out or the zoom in seeing her in the mirror and zooming into her eye.
We used the tripod alot specially in my flat, where me and my sister life and it helped me alot. My flat was one of the main places where we filmed some scene. I also learnt about computer work which we did alot. At first it wasnt easy to edit the movie clips but when we got used to it it went quickly. It took us a long time to add all the clips and at the end we had like 170 clips. We also used transitions because we edited for example fake rain which looks really amazing and real but also overlapping to the clips. All of that fits pefect in our movie.

The program we used for all this special images was 'imovie' which is a good program. It is easy to use and you can cut, edit sound, transitions really easily.
We had alot of work to do but all in all we followed nearly the storyboard from alex which is by the way a really good movie. She made us the work easier because her storyboard
was direct and it showed all the scenes and work we had to do.
The only thing we changed was the scene at the end. We edit one more scene by turning the music off while she is pressing the off button on the stereo. This was a good idea.
The music we used was a performance by one of kuans friend who played it on a piano.
7. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel have you learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
The first movie i made was also a team work production which we called 'positive' and was about a man who went to the doctor because he made a HIV test. At the end he was told that he is positive. We had two shots on our 'positive' movie but we decided to go for our last production, because it looked much better and the match-on-action worked quit better.
After our final product and the preliminary one i learnt a lot. Especially i was in both movies the camera man and i learnt a lot about camera work. How to change the lighting on the camera because in our first movie we just filmed indoor but in our final product we also filmed outside. And we had a lot of problems at the beginning because in our first shot outside the color was blue. Also about the camera work i learnt to focus on small things, specially in our final product when i had to zoom and focus on one single rain drop.

In our preliminary task we used a few match-on- actions which were quit good but after this task we tried to make it better in our final production and it final happened and we did it really good.
Also different was that we used a tripod in our final product which we did not use it in the preliminary task. It helped really good because of the tripod i did not have the handshaking so the picture was not moving, it stayed still.
Which i also learnt was that we changed the backgrounds what we did not do in our first product. We just filmed in on room which was supposed to be the doctors room. In our final product we filmed in different places, for example in my flat, office ( in the angila ruskin university) and on the streets

So we nearly change places in every shot we took.
One important point was what when we filmed on the streets the background always changed because every time different cars drove there or where standing. So we also had to be careful about that, so that it does not look to obvious that we filmed on different days or times.
Different between both products was also that in our final one we edit music and titles which we did not in the first one. So i learnt how to work on the computer to edit music which we had first to discuss which one we use, and also the titles which we edit as well in our final product.
